About us
It all began when helping young gamers get into the hobby. Young gamers who were short of cash would seek out second hand models to build up their army. To support the local community a group of us would help them strip there models to give them a fresh canvas to work from. Over time, more experienced gamers started coming forward and asking if we would strip their models and 'The Paint Purge' was born. We continue to support school and youth groups to help keep this hobby affordable for the younger generation.
Ethos
We believe in recycle and reuse. There are a lot of miniatures tucked away, old and new that are begging for a new lease of life. Stripping miniatures allows individuals to start again and keeps the cost down. As models change hands or hobbyists get better at there craft, its a good reason to strip the model rather than buy new. A lot of individuals can strip their models at home which is amazing as it keeps the hobby alive and promotes reusing.
'The Paint Purge' is here to help individuals that might not have the time or want the mess that comes with paint removal. So why might you use us?
Individuals with old childhood models who now want to get back into the hobby but do not want to spend lots on new models.
Individuals that want to sell their old models. There is a premium for stripped models.
Individuals that have bought a second hand unit or army and now want to paint them up.
Just don't want the hassle with time and mess.
The Empire Project
We have a large Empire army in to be stripped, re based and primed. This is an old childhood collection that has been sat in the attic for nearly 20 years. This is only a small selection of the models that have been sent to us. It is good to see that this army will soon be ready to be painted and hopefully see some more battles.
Necrons
Some nice vintage OOP Necrons in for stripping, these were found in the attic of the customer. They were sent in and sold on behalf of the customer.
Baneblade
This is one for my personal army. The Baneblade had 4 layers of paint when I picked it up. The original owner primed it and painted it, second owner sprayed over the paint job and re painted it. So I am the third owner. There is some staining, but will do one more soak and it will be ready to Prime.
